Petlove.az

An online store for a QR-coded pet ID tag

A store for a tag product that carries a pet's identity and health information on its collar as a QR code — a site that explains the product and the digital profile service in one place, while selling it.

Problem

The product sells a new idea: the pet's vaccination status and ownership information are stored in a QR code, and if the pet gets lost, whoever finds it scans the code and contacts the owner. With a product like this, the main obstacle isn't the price — it's that people don't understand how it works.

So the site had to do two jobs at once: explain the idea and sell the product. Simply putting up a product card would not have been enough.

Approach

It was built at tier S1, on a ready-made e-commerce platform. For a new brand with a single product line, writing a custom store engine would have drawn budget away from the product itself and from advertising.

The home page was built to explain: what the product does, what the QR code is for, the vaccination status, and what happens if the pet is lost — all of this comes before the product card. The buyer first understands the idea, then sees the price.

Elements that speed up sales were added: a campaign with a countdown, discounted price display, a "best sellers" section and a newsletter subscription. These are needed for a new brand to gather its first customer base.

Separate Services, About and Blog sections were built — to explain the digital profile service and to provide content that brings in traffic from search.

The legal side was not forgotten: the footer states openly that the product is not a state registry but a digital information card. In a new category, this kind of clarity both protects buyer trust and reduces risk.

S1

Starting tier

A new brand — the cheapest and fastest setup for testing the market.

Why the S1 tier was chosen

A new brand, a single product line and an untested market — this is a classic S1 situation. With a ready-made platform, the store went live within weeks. When the product range expands and order volume grows, online payment, a subscription model and a QR profile dashboard are added on top of the existing setup.

Architecture decisions

01

Explain first, then sell

In a new category, a product card doesn't sell on its own. The home page explains what the QR code is for — vaccination tracking and contact if the pet is lost — before the product.

02

Campaign mechanics

The countdown, discounted price and "best sellers" section were built to help a new brand gather its first customer base. They were solved with the platform's built-in capabilities.

03

Legal clarity in plain sight

The site states openly that the product is not an official state document. In a new product category, this clarity both protects buyer trust and reduces the risk of future disputes.

04

A product structure ready to expand

There is currently a single product line, but the category structure is ready for new products — no rebuild is needed as the range grows.

Let's build your product*together*

In a forty-minute meeting we talk through your scale: which tier it makes sense to start at, how much time and budget it takes, and what we deliberately defer. No obligation.
